A concerto of poetry in four movements, where ice remembers water, fire reveals home, and disappearing is only the beginning.
This collection of poems and poetic parables follows a journey through grief and healing, through losing and finding, towards remembering the self that was there all along.
These are poems for the days you felt too much, the nights you felt nothing, and the moments when something inside you refused to break.
Through ice and water, fire and breath, the natural world becomes a language for the inner one. Freezing becomes adaptation. Fire burns through what no longer belongs. Water remembers how to move. And beneath the stories, expectations and protective layers we have gathered along the way, something remains. Whole. Alive. Still there.
Accessible, lyrical and deeply reflective, ice remembers water is for readers who have ever lost themselves in loving, surviving, belonging or becoming what others needed them to be. It is for those finding their voice again, for those navigating a difficult season, and for anyone drawn to poetry that opens a different way of seeing.
If you have ever felt lost, broken, or trapped inside a version of yourself that no longer fits, these pages invite you home.

The ways we disappear in order to survive.
i rejected myself before others could
i created masks
stories
walls
a fortress
to keep me safe
i reasoned
if i created the cage
i would be the one holding the key
to let myself out
the problem with that is
what i created became more real
than any prison
anyone else would have put me in
unless i let myself out
i will remain there

Fire melts what no longer belongs.
the fire in me
will never go out
it has spent years
trying to show me
who I have
always been

The return to what was never truly lost.
love came gently
like a warm glow
on a dark morning
like the sun glistening
on snow
like a smile
in a roomful of hostile faces
as if it wanted me to know
the one face
that needed kindness most
was my own
